Robert DePalma
Vice President - Financial Services

Robert DePalma has over 20 years of finance and accounting experience within the telecommunications industry and with public accounting firms and is currently Vice President – Financial Services with Cassara Management Group, Inc. (CMGI).  Mr. DePalma joined CMGI in February 2009 and is engaged as a financial operations consultant for several companies in the telecommunications sector.

Prior to joining CMGI, Mr. DePalma was Chief Financial Officer for NexUSTel LLC, a start up internet based prepaid calling services company located in Miami, FL.  In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. DePalma was responsible for all of the company’s financial operations, including finance, accounting, tax, risk management, legal, human resources and treasury. 

Prior to joining NexUSTel, Mr. DePalma held various management finance and accounting positions with Global Crossing Limited for over 16 years.  Most recently, he was Director, Implementation of Cost of Access in Rochester, NY and led a project team of 15 members in the implementation of a new industry-specialized account payable system for cost of access expenses with projected annual savings of more than $5 million.  In addition, his experience with the company included extensive experience in business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, corporate reporting, financial statement audits for all the various business segments; international experience with a concentration on external reporting and audits, operations management, human resources and integration of business processes and successfully managed through company bankruptcy and industry downturn.

During his years with Global Crossing Limited and the precursor companies, Frontier Corporation and Rochester Telephone Corp., Mr. DePalma was involved in all aspects of the telecommunications industry from ILEC to CLEC to International Carrier Services with an 18 month assignment based in London, UK.  As Frontier Corporation’s Director – Local Operations Financial Services, he was responsible for all the accounting operations and regulatory reporting for the companies’ CLEC reseller & facilities based market rollout and local telephone operations which encompassed more than 1,000,000 access lines, $1 billion in annual revenues and 35 telephone operating companies including 7 cable TV companies and 15 wireless partnerships.

Mr. DePalma earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio and is a CPA in New York State.  He lives in Fairport, NY with his wife Deb.
